What is the Wolseley Owners Club?

The Wolseley Owners Club Limited has been launched by a group of Wolseley owners and enthusiasts, to serve the growing needs of the Wolseley community. The club is open to anybody who has an interest in these great British classic cars, there is no requirement to own a Wolseley. Our objectives are to raise awareness of the Wolseley marque and to preserve the Wolseley name along with other Wolseley clubs and associations. The Wolseley Owners Club is a not-for-profit organisation, whose emphasis is firmly on its members.

Is the Wolseley Forum a part of the WOC?

The Wolseley Forum and The Wolseley Owners Club are separate entities. While they may both enhance the others usefulness, you do not need to be a member of the Wolseley Owners Club to be a member of the Wolseley Forum and vice versa. The Wolseley Forum is a free resource open to ALL Wolseley car owners and enthusiasts. The Wolseley Owners Club does however, encourage all Wolseley owners to join the Forum, as it is an excellent resource for finding information and chatting to other members on-line.

The Wolseley Owners Club has a closed area on the Wolseley Forum which only members can see. This is to avoid cluttering up the Forum with club matters. It is not to exclude members of the open forum and will ONLY be used for club related information. i.e. feed back of the club magazine, member queries and messages to members etc...

If a Wolseley Owners Club member does not have the use of a computer, how would this affect them?

At The Wolseley Owners Club we do tend to make use of the internet, for our website, The Wolseley Forum and communications (email). This does not mean we will exclude any members who do not have the use of a computer. Quite the contrary, we are very happy to communicate by phone, post and face to face meetings and will, on request, post on Wolseley Forum on a member’s behalf if they wish, as we often do now.

Why is the club a limited company?

It may sounds strange to have a car club as a limited company; however there are sound reasons for this. Firstly, it offers a measure of protection to our members, it also formalizes the structure of the club and mandates the club to publicly publish certain records annually. These include a list of company directors and a copy of the club’s accounts. This way, the club is open and accountable to its members.

Secondly, it allows the club, if it wishes to, to own assets in its own right. These can be as simple as office equipment or internet domain names to more complex things like intellectual property and copyrights. For example, the club now owns its own printer for printing the club magazine in-house and other information for members.

How will the Club achieve its aims/objectives?

So far the club is achieving its aims and objectives by the following:

Organising many social events all over the UK and assisting in organising these overseas to help Wolseley Owners Club members meet and socialise.

The events planned so far, are all listed on the website here.

After each event, The Wolseley Owners Club committee will endeavour to do a write-up so that those who didn't attend can get a feel of what the event was like. These are posted in the Events section on the Wolseley Forum here and some are included in the club Magazine.

Our website, which is currently under construction, will host historical information and include a member’s only section which will host electronic backup copies of the club magazine, financial information relating to the club, committee minutes and any other relevant information.

At the moment, the website hosts information on how to contact the committee, a manual and electronic form to join the club, events and some pages of information on some models of Wolseleys. More information is continually being added.

We also communicate by phone, social meets, on the Wolseley Forum, PM and email with members, to help with parts queries and technical advice.

A benefit of being such a new club, is that we are flexible enough to adapt our planning to meet the changing needs of our members. This means that our members have a fantastic opportunity to shape the future of The Wolseley Owners Club.

What is ‘Wisely’?

‘Wisely’ is the magazine of The Wolseley Owners Club. This is a full colour A4 bi-monthly publication which is sent to all club members. Packed full of informative, entertaining and useful articles from, ‘Places to visit in my Wolseley’ to ‘Readers Drives’, Technical ‘how-to’s’ to ‘Restorations’, Rare Wolseleys and other articles. For a taster of what is in store, please see the club’s website

As with any club, we will need help from our members to help keep ‘Wisely’ interesting for all our members to read, so please help us by sending us articles and pictures we can publish. Please see this link for details on how to send us information.
