Moving swiftly on from my Rad (& fantasy dashboard).

Having replaced the rear springs with a saloon spec pair (because that was all I could get new) I can see why the traveller had slightly softer springs and was 1 inch lower than the saloon. Although visually the car sits quite nicely on the road its noticeable that the load bay slopes downwards back to front (by the way in which screws and bolts skitter forwards). I'd like to raise the front by about 1 inch - can the torsion bar be safely adjusted by this amount - it looks like there is an adjuster mechanism at one end)?

Cheers!
Martin

At the rear end of the torsion bars is a locknut and adjuster for fine adjustment.

There are splines on the front end of the torsion bars, so I presume someone could bash the lower suspension arm along the splines, move the arm over and whack it up the next spline.
I've never done this myself. I'll have a look in my manual.
Also would be an excellent time to check the suspension rubbers!

Whole sets are available ex- india. I've fitted a set to one of my cars. They fit well. Seem to be made of softer rubber than the originals.
