In a drawer I've discovered a badge for the Wolseley Auto Club and it is clearly meant to be afixed to a badge bar. I know I've owned the badge for about 20 years but have no idea now where it came from. It's in metal (some sort of alloy) and seems to be hand-painted black with the silver-grey metal showing through in relief to provide the actual design elements. It's the Wolseley oval shape.

More to the point though, I've never heard of the Wolseley Auto Club, which perhaps explains why the thing has a slight sense of the home-made about it, as one might expect with a low production run. Perhaps it was supplied raw with the buyer expected to fill in the background colour themselves. Can anyone throw some light on the Wolseley Auto Club?

Many thanks. Assuming your example images display the same way I see them on my browser, viewing left to right mine is the second one in the top row, described as just pre- or postwar.

I guess this was some sort of glee club for Wolseley employees of the time who were particularly keen motorists and enjoyed Sunday mystery tours or time trials or picnic outings at the wheel of a Wolseley.
