Having reconditioned the battery on Phoebe and got her running again, the dynamo looks to be ok and still outputting decent voltage, but the voltage regulator does not.

I tested the voltage output of the regulator per the workshop manual and it produced some very strange results. So I've removed the voltage reg and whilst similar, it in no way matches the illustrations in the manual or parts list. So it seems the spare part I was given with the car wasn't the right part for the Isis.

Does anyone have a working spare for sale fairly urgently?

The correct voltage regulator for your car should be BMC part number 3H1836, Lucas number EG4231 correct also for Austin Healey and cheap as french fries:

https://www.cape-international.com/capeshop...thepart=3H1836#

For a bit more money there are also NOS available:

Thanks Llan. I saw the Ah ones, but they don't have the spade connectors, which my present one has (maybe that's another indicator that mine is not the correct part).

The manuals aren't clear if the Isis ones have spade connectors or not.

There is no part number on my reg. it only reads 1 12V A5

The part number is from the Isis factory parts book, so is correct, for specs certainly. Here are two pictures from the Isis factory workshop manual, I'm sure you'll find the second one if you look a couple of pages later. Looks to me like screw down fitting rather than spade, so I suspect yours has been altered. I believe you will find the Big Healey ones are correct.
